eyes. I will share with you my interpretations of all that excites me.
I have studied independently with a number of very excellent artists but
Albert Handell, who taught in Woodstock, NY some 26 yrs ago, was the
stimulus for my appreciation of landscape painting. I originally wanted to
focus on portraits. Once taking classes with Albert I knew landscape
would be my main love. At that time I resided in the beautiful Hudson Valley
of New York State and began to paint my immediate surroundings. I was
hooked on landscape painting and continue to enjoy Nature's challenge.
For 20 years I worked exclusively with pastel but had to make a change to
acrylic paints due to a developed allergy to my beloved pastels. I now
spend more time experimenting with acrylic paints, and find that they, like
pastels, allow for spontaneity, beautiful color and textures.
Now a resident of Cape Cod - which like Warwick, NY - is a landscape
painters paradise, I continue my attempt to capture nature's beauty.
Hopefully the results will be appreciated by all who see my work.
